1.Solar photovoltaic cells

It is white but is also available as clear or black depending on the manufacturer and module.

6.Junction box – diodes and connectors

The junction box has a simple, but essential role as it is known for housing all the electric bits on a solar panel while protecting them from the environment. Some wires connect to diodes inside, providing an easy way to link panels together.

A junction box has bypass diodes which ensure the power flowing in one direction and prevent it from feeding back to the panels. A diode protects every string as it acts as a gateway that provides an endless flow of power.

If a portion of a solar panel is shaded, it will consume power, reversing electricity flow.
